# Invoice, Quote & Delivery Note Maker

Make invoices, quotes and delivery notes for free and save them as A4 portrait PDF. The form has the items a qualified invoice needs (請求書 in the Japanese form). It mixes 10%, 8% (reduced rate) and tax-exempt lines, takes prices with or without tax, and rounds tax down, to nearest or up per rate. Everything is made in your browser; nothing is sent.

## How to use

1. Choose the document type (invoice, quote or delivery note), and enter the issue date and number.
2. Enter your name and registration number (T + 13 digits; only the format is checked) and the recipient.
3. Enter each line’s item, quantity, unit and unit price, and pick its tax rate (10%, 8% or exempt). Choose whether prices are tax-exclusive or tax-inclusive.
4. Choose how the tax is rounded (down, to nearest or up). It is rounded once per rate for the whole document.
5. Click “Save PDF”. Use “Export JSON” to keep the entries, and “Duplicate” to start the next document.

## Use cases

- A sole trader sends a client an invoice in the qualified-invoice form
- An invoice that mixes 8% reduced-rate food with standard 10% goods
- A quote with a validity date, sent as PDF
- A freelancer shows the amount paid after withholding on a fee

## What it does

### Fields for qualified-invoice items

Issuer name and registration number, transaction date, totals and tax per rate, the rate of each total, and the recipient. Reduced-rate lines are marked ※ with a note.

### Tax rounded once per rate

Tax is worked out on each rate’s total, not on each line, and rounded once: down, to nearest, or up. Tax-inclusive entry uses 10/110 and 8/108.

### Withholding

For fees under Income Tax Act article 204: 10.21% up to ¥1,000,000 and 20.42% above it, on the tax-exclusive amount, rounded down to the yen.

## FAQ

### What must a qualified invoice contain?

The issuer’s name and registration number, the transaction date, the items (with a note for reduced-rate items), the total and tax rate for each rate, the tax for each rate, and the recipient’s name (National Tax Agency). The form has fields for all of them.

### How is the tax rounded?

Once per rate for each document. Adding up the tax of each line is not accepted for the qualified-invoice items, so this tool does not do it (NTA Q&A question 57).

### How is tax worked out for tax-inclusive prices?

Each rate’s tax-inclusive total × 10/110 (8/108 for reduced rate), rounded. The tax-exclusive amount is the total minus that tax, so the two always add up.

### How is withholding worked out?

On the tax-exclusive total: 10.21% up to ¥1,000,000; above that, (amount − ¥1,000,000) × 20.42% + ¥102,100. Rounded down to the yen (NTA No. 2798).

### Can I check that a registration number is valid?

No. Only the format (T and 13 digits) is checked. Confirm it on the NTA’s public list of qualified invoice issuers.

### Is my document uploaded?

No. Making and saving the PDF happens entirely in your browser; nothing is sent to a server.
