Compare an old and a new PDF, and take out the differences as a list and as images
  1. Drop the older PDF and the newer PDF into their boxes (or choose files).

  2. Pick “Compare text” or “Compare looks”. Text compares the words; looks renders each page as an image and compares the pixels.

  3. In “Compare text”, click “Compare”. Every added, deleted or changed item appears with its old and new page numbers, side by side.

  4. In “Compare looks”, check a page side by side, with a slider, or as a difference picture. Changed areas are boxed.

  5. Save the list as CSV or text, and the visual differences of changed pages as PNG in a ZIP.

What it does

Added, deleted and changed words

Words are compared one by one and shown with the old and new page numbers. Inserted or removed pages do not make every later page look changed, because the whole document is compared as one flow.

Line breaks ignored by default

Lines that only re-wrap a paragraph are not reported by default. Spaces, full-width and half-width characters, and letter case are compared as written unless you choose to ignore them. The result always says what was ignored.

Visual comparison

Pages are rendered at the same resolution and compared pixel by pixel. Changed areas are boxed, and you can view them side by side, with a slider or as a difference picture.

Save the results

The text list is saved as CSV or text. Visual differences are saved as PNG, one per changed page, in a ZIP.

No upload

Reading, comparing and saving all run in your browser, so confidential contracts stay on your device.

Use cases

  • Check the changed clauses of a contract against the previous version before sending it
  • Share the revisions of a policy or specification as a page-numbered list
  • Confirm layout or drawing changes with a visual diff
  • Check whether a PDF received from a supplier is really the same as the last one

Limits & notes

  • Up to 100 MB and 500 pages per file.
  • Visual comparison renders one page at a time, so long documents take longer. “Check all pages” can be stopped.
  • Visual differences can be saved for up to 100 changed pages at once.
  • Text comparison reads the text in the order it is stored in the PDF. Text around columns or figures may be read in a different order.
  • Text inside images (scans or text in pictures) cannot be read by text comparison.

Privacy & safety

Reading the PDFs, extracting text, comparing and saving all happen in your browser. Your PDFs are never sent to or stored on a server.

FAQ

How do I list only the changed parts of a PDF?
Put the old and new versions in their boxes, choose “Compare text” and click “Compare”. The added, deleted and changed items are listed with their old and new page numbers.
Can I compare scanned PDFs?
PDFs that hold only images have no text, so “Compare text” cannot read them. Use “Compare looks” to compare the pages as images.
Are line-break-only changes reported?
Not by default: “Ignore differences in line break positions” is on from the start. Turn on “Ignore differences in spaces (including line breaks)” or “Ignore full-width / half-width differences” to leave out those differences too.
Will adding one page make every later difference appear?
No. Text comparison follows the whole document, so an inserted or removed page does not make the later text look changed. Visual comparison matches page numbers.
Are the PDFs uploaded?
No. Everything runs in your browser, and the PDFs never leave your device.

Diff Tool — Text & Code Compare

Paste or drop two versions and see added and removed lines, plus the exact words that changed inside each line. Copy or save the result as a unified patch. Nothing leaves your browser.

Excel Compare

Load an old and a new Excel or CSV file to see added, removed and changed rows, with every changed cell shown as “old → new”. Rows in a different order are matched by a key column such as a product code. Cell values are compared, not formatting or formulas. Save the result as a colour-coded Excel report or CSV.

Image Compare

Check how two images differ with a slider, blink or difference view, plus numbers for differing pixels, PSNR, SSIM and file size. The images are compared in your browser and never uploaded.

Images to PDF

Drop images, put them in order and get one PDF. Choose page size, orientation and margins; phone photos are rotated correctly. Images are converted on your device and never uploaded.

No upload

Compress PDF

Drop a PDF to cut its size. Only photos and scans are recompressed, so text and graphics stay crisp. Your PDF is processed on your device and never uploaded.

PDF Editor

Lay text (Japanese included), shapes, arrows, a highlighter, freehand drawing and images on top of a PDF, and fill in its form fields. Text, shapes, highlights and freehand strokes are written as PDF vectors and real text, never as pictures; an added image is embedded as an image. Rewriting the original text and true redaction are not possible.
