Text to Outline

Convert text into font outlines (paths) and export SVG, PNG or PDF. The result looks the same on a machine without the font, so it suits print files and logo artwork.

  4. Choose the output format (SVG, PNG or PDF) and click “Create outlines”.

What it does

Exported as paths

The text becomes filled shapes, so it looks the same to anyone, with or without the font. SVG opens in browsers and drawing tools.

Shows the embedding permission

Displays the embedding permission (fsType) written in the font and warns when it is restricted. It does not decide whether you may use the font.

Kerning applied

Spaces letters with the kerning pairs in the font. Letter spacing and line height can be adjusted.

Three formats

SVG (paths that stay sharp when enlarged), PNG (transparent background, 2× or 4×) or PDF (vector).

Use cases

  • Turn text into shapes before sending print files, so no font has to be embedded
  • Use a logo or heading as vector artwork
  • Show the same lettering on a computer that does not have the font
  • Place lettering from your own font as an SVG path on a web page

Supported formats

Input

TextFont: TTF, OTF, WOFF, WOFF2, TTC (first font)

Limits & notes

  • Up to 2,000 characters and a 30 MB font file.
  • PNG scale is 1×, 2× or 4×. When the long edge would exceed 8,000 px, the scale is lowered.
  • Characters the font does not have come out blank (they are listed under the preview).
  • Horizontal text only.
  • Works on smartphones. Large font files take longer to load.
  • Bitmap-only fonts (fonts without outlines) cannot be used.

Privacy & safety

Reading the font, converting it to outlines and exporting all happen in your browser. Neither the text nor the font is sent to a server.

FAQ

What does converting text to outlines do?
It converts the text into the font’s outline shapes. The result looks the same on a machine without the font and suits print files and logo artwork.
Will it look the same on a computer without the font?
Yes, because the text is exported as shapes and does not refer to the font. Check the font’s licence separately.
Should I choose SVG or PDF?
SVG suits the web and drawing tools; PDF (vector) suits print shops. Choose PNG for an image with a transparent background.
Can I use my own font?
Yes. Choose a TTF, OTF, WOFF or WOFF2 file and the text is exported in that font. The font is not sent anywhere.
What if the embedding permission says “restricted”?
You can still export, but the publisher restricts embedding for that font. Turning text into shapes does not change the font’s licence, so check it.
Can I outline text inside an image?
No. This tool works from the text data. To turn lettering in an image into SVG, use the image vectorizer tool.

Font Studio

Drop a font file to see its names, glyph count and character coverage (JIS levels, jōyō kanji and Unicode blocks), and preview any text. Compare fonts side by side, convert to WOFF2 or WOFF, or keep only the characters you list. Everything runs in your browser and the font is never uploaded.

SVG Studio

Load an SVG file or paste code to get a safe preview and a check of what is inside. Shrink it with SVGO, export PNG or WebP, turn it into a data URI, CSS or React code, and format it — all inside your browser.

No upload

Image to SVG

Traces a PNG, JPEG, WebP or BMP into an SVG that stays sharp at any size. Best for logos, line art, handwriting and icons. The image is processed only in your browser and never sent anywhere.

Icon Generator

From one image (or a letter or emoji), get favicon.ico, apple-touch-icon, Android/PWA icons, a maskable icon and an OGP image, plus the manifest and the <head> code to paste. Check blur at real size first — nothing leaves your browser.

Batch Image Resizer

Resizing is free: drop a batch of images and resize them by width, longest edge, box crop and more. To change pixel dimensions, type the width or long edge in px. Make several sizes (say 320, 640 and 1280) from each image in one go, then copy ready-made srcset HTML. Your images are never uploaded.

Image Compressor

Drop images to shrink them in bulk while keeping them sharp. Convert to WebP or AVIF, resize, and compare before and after. Your images are never uploaded.
