What it does

Open without design software

PDF-compatible .ai files are read as PDF and drawn with pdf.js. You can see each artboard without installing any editor.

Layers and fonts

Switch layers on or off, and list fonts with their names and whether they are embedded. Creator and version information is read from the document metadata.

Export to PNG, JPEG or PDF

PNG (transparent background optional) and JPEG at 72–300 dpi. PDF can be saved as-is or as a lighter copy without the creator’s hidden data.

No upload

Reading, drawing and export all run in your browser, so confidential artwork never leaves your device.

FAQ

Can I open an .ai file without design software?
Yes, if it is PDF-compatible. The file must start with “%PDF-”. It is drawn in your browser.
Which .ai files cannot be opened?
Old PostScript-only .ai files, .ai files without a PDF-compatible part, and EPS files. Re-save the file with “Create PDF compatible file” turned on in the creator app.
Do layer switches apply to the export?
Yes for PNG and JPEG. PDF exports keep the visibility settings saved in the file.
What is the difference between the PDF “as-is” and “lighter” options?
As-is saves the .ai contents unchanged as a .pdf. The lighter copy removes the creator’s hidden data. Metadata such as the creator name stays. The look does not change.
Will the exported images match the original?
The drawing follows the PDF-compatible part. Creator-only effects and some transparency or blend modes may look different from the original application.
Is my .ai file uploaded?
No. Everything from reading to export happens in your browser.
