What it does

Part of a video as a GIF

Set the start and end on the timeline, then choose the frame rate and the size of the long side. The speed and loop can also be changed.

Images in order as one animation

Put several images in any order and set how long each one shows. The sizes are matched by fitting or cropping.

Colours, dither and transparency

Choose from 2 to 256 colours. Dither scatters the colour edges, and transparency makes the background see-through.

A colour table for each frame

Each frame gets its own colour table, so the colours suit each scene.

Preview before you save

The GIF plays in the browser so you can check it, and you can see its size and file size before you save.

Use cases

  • Cut out part of a video and make a GIF to post in a chat or a document
  • Put photos in order to make a short explanatory animation
  • Make a looping GIF of the steps of an operation
  • Join photos taken one after another into one animation

FAQ

Do I have to upload the video to make a GIF?
No. Videos and images are turned into a GIF in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server.
How do I make a GIF from only part of a video?
Set the start and end on the timeline before you make the GIF. A lower frame rate means fewer frames and a smaller file.
How do I make the GIF file smaller?
Lower the size (long side), the frame rate or the number of colours. A shorter part also helps.
Can I change the order and size of the images?
Up to 60 images can be added. Change the order with the up and down buttons. The size follows the aspect ratio of the first image.
Why does the colour look coarse?
A GIF frame can use up to 256 colours, so photos can look coarse. Turn on dither to make the colour edges less visible.

Video Trim and Join

To keep only part of a video, set the start and end on the timeline and press “Add this part”. Put the parts in any order and save them as one video. Videos of the same format keep their quality.

No upload

Video Compress

To make a video smaller, choose the video and a quality preset (High, Medium or Small). Resolution, frame rate and bitrates can be changed one by one. Compare the size, resolution and playback before and after; the file is never uploaded.

No upload

Image Merge & Contact Sheet

Put your images in order and merge them into one picture: stacked, side by side, in a grid or as a contact sheet. The output size is shown before you create it, and images never leave your device.

No upload

Video Converter, Rotate and Crop

To change only the container, the picture and sound are copied as they are, so the quality stays the same and it is quick. MP4 and MOV can store the rotation without changing the picture. To make a wide video vertical (9:16), fit it with a blurred background or black bars. Your file is never uploaded.

No upload

Video Target Size

To bring a video close to a set size, choose the video and a target (8, 10, 25, 50 or 100 MB, or a custom size). The bitrate is calculated from the target, and if the result is over, it is lowered and tried again. The file is never uploaded.

No upload

Audio Converter and Video Audio Extractor

To get just the sound from a video, choose the video and an output format (MP3, M4A, WAV, Opus or FLAC). If the source audio is AAC, M4A is written without re-encoding, so the quality does not change. Your file is never uploaded.
