How to use
- book.pdf3 landscape spreads
Add a PDF with spreads
- book.pdfSplit at the centre (50%)
Set the split line and reading order
- book (split).pdf6 pages, one per page
Save the split PDF
Drop a PDF or click “Choose files”. “Try with a sample” gives you a PDF of spreads.
Under “Action”, choose “Split spreads” or “Combine pages into spreads”.
For splitting, choose the direction, reading order, split position (centre by default), pages to split and the cover setting. The line in the preview shows the position.
Click “Create split PDF” and download the result.
What it does
Reading order
Choose left to right (left-bound) or right to left (right-bound, vertical-text books and manga). The page order after splitting is the reading order.
Split position in %
The default is the centre (50%). Move it between 30% and 70% in 0.5% steps to correct a shifted scan.
Choose which pages split
Split only landscape spreads, or every page. The cover and the last page can be kept whole.
Pages stay vector
Splitting only changes the visible area (CropBox); pages are not turned into images. Combining embeds the original pages, so text and drawings are not degraded.
Use cases
- Split scanned book spreads into single pages to read them more easily
- Split a right-to-left vertical-text book or manga in the correct order
- Place single pages two by two as spreads, like a booklet
- Move an off-centre split line on a scan that was shifted when it was scanned

Limits & notes
- Up to 200 MB and 2,000 pages per file. Several files are processed one after another.
- Password-protected PDFs cannot be opened.
- The split position is 30–70% (default 50%).
- When combining, both pages on a sheet share the height of the taller page, and the shorter one is aligned to the top.
- For top and bottom splits, the reading order is top to bottom.
- Works in phone and tablet browsers too. A PC is easier for checking the split line in detail.
Privacy & safety
Reading, splitting, combining and saving all happen in your browser; your PDF is never sent to a server.
