Photo Date & Time Fixer

Shift the date taken (EXIF) of many photos at once or set them to a date you choose. Image data is never touched — only the date tags are rewritten — so quality stays the same. Everything runs in your browser.

Your files and input are processed only inside your browser on this device and are never uploaded to our servers.

Rewrites without re-compressingImage data is untouched; only the EXIF date tags change. The date shown by phone photo apps or cloud services (kept by the app), videos, and HEIC rewriting are not supported.

Photos are processed in this browser and are never sent to a server.Accepts: JPEG (rewritable), PNG / WebP / HEIC (dates shown only). Multiple files and folders OKPaste (Ctrl+V) also works

How to use

    IMG_0102.jpgShot 10/20 9:05
    Shooting dates (EXIF)List of dates

    Add photos or a folder

  2. Shooting dates (EXIF)9:00 → 18:00

    Shift or align the dates

  3. IMG_0101.jpgNo re-compression
    IMG_0102.jpg

    Only the date is rewritten

Shift the shooting dates of many photos at once, or set them to one date
  1. Drop photos or use “Choose files” / “Choose folder” (multiple files supported). “Try a sample” loads a demo photo.

  2. Each photo shows its date taken, create date, modify date, time zone, GPS date, the date in its file name and its last-modified time side by side, with differences highlighted.

  3. Pick a method: shift everything by ± days/hours/minutes/seconds, match one photo’s correct time and shift all, set from the file name, or pin a fixed date. Choose which tags to write and a time zone.

  4. Check the “After” column, then press “Rewrite”.

  5. Save photos one by one or as a ZIP. Optionally rename them to the date taken (e.g. 20250815_093012.jpg).

What it does

Rewrites without re-compressing

Image data is never touched; only the EXIF date tags change. Each output is checked to have image data (compressed data, tables, frame info) identical to the input, and is refused otherwise.

Dates side by side

DateTimeOriginal, CreateDate, ModifyDate, OffsetTime, the GPS date, the date in the file name and the last-modified time are listed per photo, and mismatches are highlighted.

Four ways to correct

Shift by days/hours/minutes/seconds, derive the shift from one photo’s correct time, set from the file name (IMG_20240101_123456 …), or pin a date (optionally adding seconds per photo).

Other tags stay intact

Make, model, GPS, orientation, colour profile, XMP and maker notes are not modified. Only when a date or time-zone tag has to be added is the affected EXIF directory rebuilt near the end of the EXIF block.

Time zone and GPS time

Set OffsetTime / OffsetTimeOriginal / OffsetTimeDigitized (e.g. +09:00). If a photo has a GPS date (UTC) you can shift it by the same amount.

Use cases

  • Fix travel photos shot while the camera clock was wrong
  • Align photos taken abroad to one time zone so your gallery sorts correctly
  • Line up photos from several cameras using one photo with a known correct time
  • Give scanned or date-less photos a date taken

Supported formats

JPEG (.jpg / .jpeg / .jfif): view and rewritePNG, WebP, HEIC: dates shown only (no rewriting)

Output

JPEG (only the date tags changed)Single files or a ZIPOptional rename (YYYYMMDD_HHMMSS.jpg etc.)

Limits & notes

  • Up to 100 MB per file and 200 files per batch.
  • Only JPEG can be rewritten. HEIC, PNG and WebP show dates only.
  • The EXIF dates in the file are changed (plus OffsetTime and the GPS date if you choose). XMP/IPTC dates and the file’s modified time are not.
  • Phone photo apps and cloud services may use their own date, so rewriting the file may not change what they show.
  • Dates are wall-clock times with no time zone and daylight-saving changes are not applied. Years must be 1000–9999.
  • A file whose EXIF is damaged is refused instead of being rewritten.
  • Phones can use it too, but for large batches a PC is recommended to avoid running out of memory.

Privacy & safety

Reading, analysing, rewriting and zipping all happen inside your browser. Photos and dates are never sent to or stored on a server, and file names and contents are not included in analytics.

FAQ

Does changing the date taken reduce quality?
No. The image is never redrawn; only the EXIF date tags are rewritten. Before saving we confirm the image data matches the original and refuse to output the file otherwise.
How do I fix photos taken with a wrong camera clock?
Use “Shift all” and enter days/hours/minutes/seconds, or use “Match one photo” and choose a reference photo and its correct date and time. Every photo moves by the same amount.
The Photos app on my iPhone still shows the old date
Photo apps and cloud services can keep their own date separate from the EXIF in the file, so rewriting the file may not change it. This tool changes the EXIF dates inside the file. HEIC photos cannot be rewritten, so convert them to JPEG first.
Can I change the date of HEIC or PNG photos?
No. Dates are shown when they can be read, but only JPEG can be rewritten.
Can I set the date from the file name?
Yes, for names such as IMG_20240101_123456 where a date and time appear together. Photos whose name has no readable date are left unchanged and the reason is shown.
Does it fix video dates too?
No, video files are not supported.
