How to use
Click “Start camera” and choose “Allow” in your browser’s prompt.
When the video appears, check that permission, connection, frame rate and brightness are all OK in the diagnostics panel.
If you have several cameras, switch them under “Camera” and try HD / Full HD / 4K under “Requested resolution”.
If it doesn’t work, follow the steps shown for the error (allow permission, close other apps, etc.) and click “Try again”.
Optionally save the current frame as a PNG with “Save snapshot”.
What it does
Automatic diagnosis of failures
Permission denied, no camera, camera in use by another app, unsupported resolution or a non-HTTPS page — each is detected separately, with fix-it steps for your browser and OS.
Measures real resolution and FPS
Shows the resolution and frame rate actually delivered — not just what was requested — updated every second. Great for verifying camera specs or spotting low FPS caused by dim light.
Detects darkness and frozen video
Flags images that are too dark or too bright, and video that has not changed for several seconds (for example a closed privacy shutter).
Camera details
Lists the supported ranges (resolution, FPS, zoom, focus…) and current settings that your browser exposes.
Use cases
- Make sure your camera works before a Zoom, Teams or Google Meet call
- Find out why you see “camera not found” or “cannot start camera”
- Verify a new webcam really delivers Full HD or 4K
- Adjust lighting and framing before a meeting

Limits & notes
- Camera permission is per browser and per site. Once denied, you must re-allow it in the browser settings.
- On Windows and some systems the camera cannot be opened while another app (Zoom, Teams…) is using it.
- “Requested resolution” is a request; unsupported values fall back to the nearest the camera offers (shown as “Actual resolution”).
- In-app browsers (e.g. inside social apps) may block camera access.
Privacy & safety
Your camera video is only displayed on your screen — never recorded, stored or uploaded. Brightness and FPS are calculated in your browser. A file is saved to your device only when you click “Save snapshot”.
